Our Mission

Our mission is to create family traditions, one family at a time.

Our History

Built by families for families, Great Wolf Lodge is an icon in the family hospitality industry. Through passionate leadership, nimble innovation and dedication to exceptional service, the company is expanding rapidly. In late 2017 Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota will open its doors in Bloomington, Minnesota, followed by Great Wolf Lodge Georgia in 2018.

Great Wolf Lodge opened its first resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, in 1997, with 117 suites and 20,000 square feet of water park space. Its success spurred a new industry trend that brought first-rate accommodations together with outstanding family recreational activities, all under one roof.

Great Wolf Lodge, Wisconsin Dells, expanded just two years later to offer 309 suites with 40,000 square feet of water park space, and in less than 10 years, it grew to its current capacity of 437 suites with 76,000 square feet of water park attractions.

Great Wolf Resorts quickly realized the potential of its fully integrated, branded family vacation experience, and began plans to replicate Great Wolf Lodge in popular markets throughout North America. Creating custom training programs, world-class standards of service and innovative operating procedures, the company built its brand around the core mission of creating family traditions, one family at a time.

Great Wolf Resorts next developed a variety of themed entertainment offerings, designed to extend the average length of stay and capture more family vacation expenditures. Specialty restaurants, arcades, spas and children’s activities enhanced the guest family experience, and have since come to characterize the brand.

On this strong brand foundation, Great Wolf Resorts began to open more lodges in key vacation markets throughout the U.S., garnering rave reviews from families and respected awards along the way. These included the company’s first California resort with its largest indoor water park ever at 105,000 square feet in early 2016, and the opening of Great Wolf Lodge Colorado Springs in late 2016. Plans are underway to quickly move into other key North American and international markets in the near future.

Great Wolf Resorts continues to expand, licensing the Great Wolf Lodge brand and providing expertise in hotel and water park development, construction and management. To learn more about these opportunities, click here.
